Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:04pm
Motion to approve agenda made by Dean Girodat. Carried.
Review of Fall AGM
- Tyler Price reviewed the meeting minutes from the Fall AGM.
Clubhouse Report
- Tyler presented the clubhouse report.
- Clubhouse hours have changed for this season. Kitchen hours will be reduced to be from 11am to 8pm, with the pro shop still being open from 8am to 8pm.
- Tournament dates for the season will be posted on May 1.
Motion to approve the Clubhouse Report made by Jan Williams. Carried.
Maintenance Report
- Kevin Mazzei presented the maintenance report.
- The CN Dam has filled up enough from the snowfall run-off that we will be watering the course at a normal level this year.
- Spraying of weeds is planned to be done at some point this season. We are hoping to have it done in the spring, but it will be dependant on whether or not Madges/Dale Crowle have time to do it.
- Staff have been hired for the season for greens keeping. Kevin is still looking for a couple more volunteers for greens cutting.

Treasurer’s Report
- Nathanael Warwick presented the treasurer's report.
- We went over the financial statements for the off-season, which were in a loss again.
- We have plans to increase revenue for the season by increasing prices of food and drink, as well as a new corporate sponsorship,
Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report made by Abigail Warwick. Carried.
2024 Completed Projects
- Cart Paths – Asphalt millings were laid on the cart paths.
- Water management – Worked with the town to complete the AER review.
2025 Upcoming Projects
- Cart Paths – We will continue to lay asphalt millings on the cart paths.
Bylaw Changes
- We will be changing the Fall AGM to be in November in order for us to have our year-end financial statements done (October 31).
- We will also be changing the Spring AGM to be in April. This will allow us to include the year-end pool tournament revenue (beginning of April) in our off-season financial statements.
Motion to amend bylaws section 4.A to have AGMs held in April and November made by Tyler Price. Carried.
Special Discussion
- Corporate sponsorship rollout – We are rolling out three different sponsorship opportunities for corporations, which each have various benefits. This will bring a new corporate revenue stream to the Hanna Golf and Country Club.
Open Floor
Motion to provide financial statements and agenda to members 3 days prior to the Fall AGM made by Jerry Hannah. Carried.
- Mitchell Maetche presented the idea of setting up a hole-in-one type challenge as a new revenue stream. This would allow users to pay a fee, which would get them so many attempts at trying to make a hole-in-one. If one is made, a set prize amount would be paid out. This would be a separate hole that is set up outside the regular course, as to not interfere with regular course play. This is something that Mitchell Maetche and Garrett Buchfink will look more into regarding pricing.
