Fri./Aug 27....Thank you to all who participated in last weeks casino.

The Dale Smith Seniors tournament has come and gone and once again was just fantastic.  Contratulations to the organizers, winners and participants.

The George Wilkins Labour Day Classic is fast approaching, so if you want to have some fun... the weather looks like it is going to cooperate so contact the clubhouse and sign up.

Ryan Wecker has volunteered more of his time to organize some more fundraising projects.  If you have any ideas or would like to help Ryan, give him a call at 403 854 4774.   Thank you Ryan!

The Thursday Night Men’s League is entering playoffs, and all of the information is a click away on the leagues page under “Men’s Thursday/Standings. 

Just want to say what a delight the year has been despite the weather.  The staff from top to bottom have just done an excellent job this year, and should be congratulated.

Fri./Aug 13.....A call to action!... Hi  everyone, the HGCC is a lucky participant in working the casinos in Red Deer as a fundraiser.  Although our finances are stable, this is an important revenue source.  We are scheduled to work Thurs., August 19 and Fri., August 20th.   There are several shifts left to fill.  Jerry Kollman has been the organizer of this fundraiser and would be glad to schedule you in.  This is one of those things that is incredibly easy money, but we need people.  Don’t assume that the next guy will do it.  We need your help.  Please phone Jerry at 403 854 0049.  Any one planning on going to the city in the next while can use this as an opportunity.  Hotel rooms are available as well for the late shift.  Thank you for your participation.

Thurs/July 8.....Don’t forget the Club Championship, July 17th with a shotgun start at 10 am.

The Junior Tourney was held yesterday.   In the 12& under division we had 10 golfers. In the picture Derek Cosens and Cayden Bossert are missing from the photo. The winner was Dylan Fitzgerald in a playoff with Nathanael Warwick. They were both tied with a nine hole score of 67. Third place went to Daphne Olsen with a score of 81. 

In the 13 & over division we had 6 golfers. The winner was Robert Galloway from Consort, with an 18 hole score of 85. Second place went to Nathan Janz also from Consort. Third place was Wesley Howery with a score of 103.

Mon/July 5.....Two quick announcements, one is the Junior Tournament is being held Wed., July 7th at 10:00 am.  Details at the Clubhouse.  As well, if there is anyone interested in working at the Casino in Red Deer, August 19 or 20th, please contact the clubhouse.  This is a very valuable fund raiser, and considering that some of our other sources of funding have disappeared it has become that much more important.

Fri/June 11...Well, there’s not much to say except the Club Championship will be cancelled again, and the new holes will not be open until early next week.  There has not been a date set yet, so stay tuned.  

Sat/May 29....In case anyone is wondering....the club championship is being postponed until June 13th....weather permitting there will be a little skins game on Sunday May 30th

Fri/April 30... We’ve got Men’s League, Ladies League, Seniors League, Junior lessons and League all starting to gear up.  We’ve got something for everybody.  Grab a friend and sign up for the fun.

The Club Championship is going to be held Sunday, May 30th.  For members only.  $20 includes steak and fun.  Contact the Club for more info.

    If you know of anyone who has made a hole in one on the HGCC in the last 4 years, please notify the clubhouse.  We want to update these.

Thur/April 29....Great Job on the Fundraiser, netted just over $16,000

Once again the HGCC is glad to announce that our reciprocal deal with the Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club is in effect for 2010.  For those of you who are not familiar with this, here are the details.   First it is for members only.   Second, all tee time bookings have to be made with your home course (HGCC).  If there is a tournament on your home course (HGCC) then you may book, through your home course (HGCC), a round at the Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club and pay a green fee of only $10!!!  This does not include power cart.  You will not be allowed to play if you attempt to book this through the Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club if you are a member of Hanna.  Once again, you must book it through your home course (HGCC).  This is an excellent privilege available to members only!

The new fees have been adopted and are available for viewing on the fee page.  

One last thing is that we would like to have every one's email address.  We can use these to notify when more information has been added to the website.  We are going to have a contact sheet to be filled out by every member, but if you would like to give me your email address now, so I can add you to the contact list please email drdavid@telusplanet.net.   Thank you
